Yeah I think that was one of the things I tried first. No change.

It's strange that the previous version worked fine but not this one. Going to put back 0.6 and see what happens.

EDIT: 0.6 works just fine!

Just to confirm putting "Last_Resort.exe" in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode and giving admin privileges didn't help? Still same error?

I appreciate you troubleshooting with me. I would love to figure this out. The next two days I have limited free time but I will try my best to work with you.

It does work on Windows 7 64bit but for some reason it isn't on your system.

Where do you have Swat 3 installed out of curiosity? Is it on your main Windows boot drive (C:) and in the "Program Files (x86)" or "Program Files" folder? If so perhaps try re-installing Swat 3 and the mod to something other than either of those two folders (for example "C:\Games\Swat3")

Okay I have a theory. When I compiled the project I used a new version of the Last Resort icon that has a maximum icon size of 256x256. Apparently this can cause the "unexpected error" problem. LMAO.

I will have to fix this and link to it for you as a test.

UPDATE: Here is the Last Resort Launcher built with only 48x48 pixel maximum icons. Please test if this fixes your issue. If it does please click on each tab to see that I didn't miss one.

You, of course, will need need to download, unzip and copy over the old "Last_Resort.exe" in the Swat 3 folder.

Unfortunately the new .exe did not fix my issue :( I have the game installed to G:\Games\SWAT 3. I moved it to C:\Program Files and changed the swat.ini paths to reflect that (was too lazy to do a complete reinstall so not sure if this was a good test?) and the problem remained.

Damn, I hope I replaced all the icons properly when I rebuilt the .exe file. I was tired at the time.

The problem you are having is very strange as I said because the error routines are almost everywhere in the code. You can obviously run old VB apps since you can run v0.6 fine.

Do me a favour and temporarily rename "Swat.exe" or "Swat_Unzip32.dll". If you still get the unexpected error instead of an error saying those two files "can't be located" the app isn't even get past the first start up routine.
