Hi, everyone.

I had worked on this mod in the past years. It's a compilation of most Sierra weapon and character mods, plus some additions from other mods (weapons, sounds, animations, characters), to generally improve the game. I took resources from other mods, but it was a long time ago so I need to carefully check the ones I have used, to properly credit anyone. Here's the download link: www.dropbox.com/s/itzohg38cr9if39/SWAT3%...ttle%20Plan.zip?dl=0

The mod was made for singleplayer use, but the numerous additions (weapons and tango characters) can also be used in multiplayer. The pace is slower so characters don't run as fast as in the original SWAT3 game.
There are bugs I'll have to fix with time, I haven't touched the mod in years.
There are also changes and fixes to mission strings and weapon names so they look more consistent.

I would like to know if there's a way for me to edit mission strings of the Elite Edition and GOTY maps, without the need of modifying their archives. So basically, I want the mod package to override the content of the additional mission archives by Sierra.

PS: the mod is to be used with Last Resort, obviously. The Battle Plan name was used by Sierra when they conceived a multiplayer expansion. It was dropped in favor of the Elite Edition name.

Yup, you can modify practically anything you want in a mod. Modify the .dat file you want and include it in the mod. All the downloadable Sierra maps have their .dat files in the .zip files but the main maps that are "shipped" with the game have some information contained in common group .dat files.

My bad, Jim. I didn't explain myself. I know I can edit .dat files in the maps' zip archives (I already did so). However, I was asking if it's possible to make such adjustments without editing the original map archives inside the Missions folder. With a mod I can only edit the base game mission files (since their info is grouped in a common .dat file), not those of add-on missions. IIRC, I once tried to put the data of add-on missions inside the common .dat files, but to no avail.

The purpose of this would be to make the mod self-contained, so no stock game files would be modified. If I edit those add-on mission archives, for multiplayer there may be some mismatches with those who use stock unedited archives. To make a backup of stock mission archives is not an elegant solution, so to speak.
