Rainbow Six Siege Starter Edition

Rainbox Six Siege has a game mode that reminds me of "tango hunts" that we used to play in Swat 3 when we would fill a map up with enemies and hunt them down. Generally they were just fun missions rather than the much more serious tactical coop play of a real mission.

They are now selling a much cheaper Starter Edition of the game ($15 USD/$19.49 CDN/15€/£11.99) for the next two weeks.

The game is a full version but you have to grind to unlock more operators. You get 4 operators to start with and you have to play about 15 hours for each new operator to unlock.

Here is FAQ explaining the Starter Edition:

I don't have any interest in playing the Siege mode but the "Terrorist Hunt Classic" mode reminds me of the Swat 3 tango hunts. It would be fun to play multiplayer with friends on Steam.

Showing Terrorist Hunt Classic mode:

This summer's steam sale starts June 23 and this Starter Edition is only on sale to June 19th. Not sure if it is worth waiting until the Summer Steam Sale to prevent having to grind.

Got this on Xbox One a few months back otherwise would be tempted, is fun to play some Tango Hunt but I have always enjoyed that mode for some quick co-op!

At the very least Rainbow Six has managed to keep the mode in, even Vegas 1/2 was enjoyable! The maps in Siege feel quite a bit small though.

Wasn't aware the game had versions that came with Operators I thought they wanted you to keep playing to earn Renown I believe it is to then use on unlocking operators/weapons/attachments etc.

Didn't take long to unlock operators on Xbox could quickly grab someone you like to use and Tango Hunt only uses half the roster since it only lets you pick "Attackers"

Not even touched the PvP mode in Siege.

Myself I am PC/PS3/PS4 gamer.

I would be tempted to get it for the PC but I don't know anyone with it yet.

Not to go off the topic of Siege but Ground Branch is starting to see A.I get added in with a Tango Hunt mode.

Not tried the game since its not out on Steam yet, though you could buy editions that activated via Steam on the website at one point but very Early Access that way.

Reminds me more of Ghost Recon then a SWAT game though.

Curious to see how it turns out, the more "tactical" titles and seem to interest me just don't go as far as SWAT, pretty much just get a Tango Hunt mode, I mean Insurgency has that but game is not CQB enough for me, there is a "SWAT" mod that I've not tried since even if that helps no one is making CQB maps, about 3-4 I've found.

That Ground Branch game does look like Ghost Recon by that video. The first person POV hands were horrible but the player's death animation was really nicely done.
