As I mentioned in the past I was working on a new map for SWAT3. It is based on a ship and it has been in development for over 2 years now. An alpha(more like beta) release should've been out by Christmas, but it was not possible to do so. Probably 80% of the work involved is done. But...
There are a number of reasons why I really tempted to shelve the whole project indefinitely.
1. Work takes alot of my time. Which means I have to use my free time to maximum benefit.
2. Unresolved technical issues with the map itself. Although none of them are game breaking.
3. Unresolved technical issues with Worldcraft which is now 17 years old.
4. Lack of motivation, because it just seems like a pointless effort, especially in light of the fact that some people have decided they won't play SWAT3 anymore and it has been 3 or 4 years since anymore made a serious effort to play the game at DNC.
5. Failure to follow through on the part of other entities involved in producing components for the map. I have reason to believe one of them is doing this on purpose, because of some really stupid and bizarre idea that I'll leave and never come back once its done
6. Lack of helpers.
7. A fair number of small things to be fixed, which are mainly involved with decals and texture alignment. Which goes back to point 2.
Is there any good argument around for why I should continue working on this thing? I really find it a struggle to continue on.
