Very interesting. You are the first to report having this error. The exact phrasing of the error you got is important because it can help me determine where it occurred in the code.

Any chance you can get a screenshot of the error screen and upload it here? I would appreciate it.

If getting a screenshot is too much of a hassle please carefully write down the phrasing of the error message and the title of the error box. For instance I am looking for a message something like this: "Sorry, an error has occurred determining the current swat.exe file." and the title of the error box may be something like "swat.exe Rename Error". The error may be different but the text is important for me to narrow down where the error happened.

PS: What versions of Windows do you use and I assume you are using an English 2.1 copy of Swat 3?

Oops, I fixed it actually, I somehow forgot to run the program in compatibility mode! Funny, I swear I set to Windows 7 right before I launched it the first time. But anyhow, it's fixed now! Thankyou for all your help! It's great to see that such an old game is still alive.

By the way, if you find your frame rate a little slow in Swat 3 I highly recommend using dgVoodoo. It is something you copy into the Swat 3 folder and once you configure it properly you forget about it and it works every time you load Swat 3.

Modern versions of Windows don't support old games like Swat 3 very well that use old Direct Draw calls and 16 bit colour. dgVoodoo helps a lot with this issue.
